The bombs have gone off and your crew needs urgent medical care. Flatline is the sequel to FUSE, and is also a real time game of dice rolling but ups the complexity and co-operation while also dialing back the tension. November 1st, 1755. Lisboa is rocked by an earthquake, a tsunami, and three days of fires – but from the ruins rises opportunity. Rebuild Lisboa into the most modern city in all Portugal; nay, the world! From the brain of Vital Lacerda, designer of such gems as The Gallerist and Vinhos, Lisboa is as gorgeous as it is deep.

A mage, a warrior, and elf, and a dwarf walk into a shopping mall in order to pull off a daring heist! I seriously do not think I can sell this game better than the tagline: The co-operative Settler-Destruction Strategy Game. Come on! That’s awesome. As spirits of the land, you must use your elemental powers to aid the islanders against the European invaders. With several different nations to fight against and fantastic art, Spirit Island looks a winner.
From the designer of Space Cadets and the upcoming Downforce, Geoff Engelstein’s The Expanse is a Twilight Struggle-esque game of politics, intrigue, and conquest. If the idea of a space game that de-emphasizes fleet battles in favor of human interests intrigues you, definitely check it out. (Although part of me really wishes they’d kept this art for the cover:)
2-6 players 30 minutes Ages 14 & up
“Across all of space and time, the Tricksters play their game.” It’s a trick-taking game. Get it? Lavishly and lovingly illustrated by Beth Sobel of Viticulture and Between Two Cities fame and designed by Kodama‘s Daniel Solis, this game of amazing powers and multidimensional trickery is worth your time. Get it? Time?
4-99 players 45 minutes Ages 12 & up
Word Slam is a fast-paced game of word guessing designed by the dynamic duo of Inka and Markus Brand (EXIT: The Game, Village) who are up for not a Spiel des Jahres nomination for Exit AND a shortlist for Word Slam. One player must play nouns, verbs, adjectives, and prepositions to get their team to guess a word – but the other team is guessing at the same time. Come on and SLAM.

An expansion to 51st State Master Set, Scavengers turns being attacked into an upside; you can search the ruins of your faction’s destroyed locations. Can’t go wrong with 50 new cards!

Deluxe expansion boxes for Ashes, the Laws of Lions and the Song of Soaksend both introduce new Phoenixborn to the world, each with their own unique set of ten dice, deck, and a deckbox with space for sleeved cards and tokens.
