It’s Origins weekend! Here are some of the most hotly anticipated board games releasing at the Ohio convention.

Convention season is always a huge time for game releases; our list of New & Upcoming games this June was already a bumper crop, and now the Origins Game Fair release list comes and adds another pile to the harvest.
Strap in everyone, here we go!
2-4 players 40 minutes Ages 8 & up
Climb the tower, punch the monkeys, and collect the coins. Played on a three dimensional tower with monkeys that hang off the windows and have wild powers, Banana Bandits is a gorgeous entry-level board game great for the entire family.
2-5 players 45 minutes Ages 8 & up
Banking on a neat historical setting and resource management combo building, Century: Spice Road has you trading cinnamon and saffron in a century long past. Fast playing and lavishly illustrated with plenty of strategy and decisions, Spice Road looks like a winner.
1-5 players 30 minutes Ages 13 & up
The Dresden Files comes to your table with this co-operative card game, a tight, strategic experience of investigation, foes, and taking every little advantage that comes your way. Play as Harry, Murphy, Susan, Michael, and the Alphas through the plots of the first five novels, or take on some Side Jobs in a random scenario generator based on the short story collection of the same name.
2-4 players 120 minutes Ages 13 & up
It’s finally here. Ryan Laukat’s journey of grand adventure, of four wanderers on a quest for their heart’s true desire. Haunting, evocative, and memorable, with a ten-quest campaign featuring unique maps, art, and adventures for each, it’s time to go Near & Far, there and back again.
2-9 players 15-30 minutes Ages 8 & up
Pit Crew is a real time, lightning fast team vs team game designed by Geoff Engelstein of Space Cadets. Race to refuel, re-tire, and repair to get your car back on the track as quick as you can. Play for speed, or play for skill and the chance at a Turbo Bonus? Don’t miss the checkered flag on this one, folks.
3-5 players 60 minutes Ages 14 & up
Luck, lies, and fabulous loot. The Spoils of War await no coward, and this game of push your luck and plunder takes the classic Liar’s Dice and injects it with a clever twist; players must pay in order to up the ante. Wager, bid, and bluff your way to the artifacts, armor, and gold – and may the cunning-est Viking win!

It’s time to become legend. Resurrected from death to fight a powerful evil, this co-operative epic fantasy based on Galaxy Defenders charges players with customizing their characters as they level up and fight their way through the game’s story as they grow from heroes into legend.

Your expansions have brought you to the extent of known space. It’s time to brave the black, the unknown universe of deep space. In this expansion to Tiny Epic Galaxies.
